This month we are excited to welcome the team to Tucson for their official training camp. These guys obviously know what they are doing, because not only did they select *THE BEST* place to train in the winter (Tucson), they also selected to stay in a location in Tucson that is very, very, very close to the shop. Brilliant if you ask me!

To celebrate their arrival, we are hosting a very special event on Monday, February 8th including a catered reception, rider introduction with Q&A and photographs. We are looking forward to hosting the who’s who of Tucson for this event – including the City of Tucson mayor! The mayor will be making an official announcement at our event regarding the City of Tucson. I’d highly recommend joining us if you are in the area. RSVP is required.

So welcome to Tucson UHC Cycling. We’re rolling out the red carpet, getting dressed up and having a party! Of course, you do have to get up and train the next morning :)

PS:  If you can’t make it to Tucson for our event, consider joining the team in Scottsdale for their offcial presentation and banquet!  We will be there, will you?

(De)Construction http://blog.tri-sports.com/2010/01/06/deconstruction/ http://blog.tri-sports.com/2010/01/06/deconstruction/#comments Wed, 06 Jan 2010 23:49:58 +0000 Erik J. http://blog.tri-sports.com/?p=1278 It is official – we’re under construction! In traditional TriSports.com fashion, we are working hard to improve the TriSports.com shopping experience and going all out to do so. Our current project will add a total of 10,000 square feet to our facility, including a warehouse expansion, additional office space and conference rooms, an additional break room and 1,200 more square feet in on our retail store. And to think, we just moved in 3 years ago!

Our retail store will continue to be open during construction and if you get a chance to stop in and take a look around, please excuse our mess and lack of product display. The transformation is pretty crazy to watch. At the moment we look a bit like a bombed out building, with fixtures everywhere. The good news is that the retail floor is scheduled to be finished first so we can accommodate all of our winter visitors. We also still have our in-store pick-up option for local customers who prefer to order online and not incur shipping charges. Our project will wrap up just in time for the kick-off of TRIFEST! Please stay tuned for more photos and information as we continue along.

Yep, that wall is coming down. You’re looking at the future home of our new bike fit studio.

Press Release – TriSports.com Welcomes New Bike Manager to the Team http://blog.tri-sports.com/2009/11/13/press-release-trisportscom-welcomes-new-bike-manager-to-the-team/ http://blog.tri-sports.com/2009/11/13/press-release-trisportscom-welcomes-new-bike-manager-to-the-team/#comments Fri, 13 Nov 2009 18:02:58 +0000 Seton http://blog.tri-sports.com/?p=1192 Tucson, AZ November 13, 2009: TriSports.com is excited to announce the addition of Tom Demerly to the management team. Demerly, longtime owner of Bikesport Michigan, is making the move to Tucson to join TriSports.com and head up the newly developed Bike Manager position. TriSports.com has long been the leader in triathlon retail and, with the recent partnership with local cycling club Eclipse Racing (now TriSports Cycling), is paving the way to becoming a leader in the road cycling market, as well. Demerly’s hiring was the result of a lengthy process during which TriSports.com interviewed many exceptional candidates from around the US for the position. Ultimately, Demerly’s expertise in both road and triathlon bicycles is what convinced TriSports.com that he was the best candidate to take the bike department to new heights. It is no coincidence that Demerly will be joining TriSports.com just as expansion plans begin, specifically enhancing the bike fit and service areas of the destination shop. “Tom Demerly will be a major asset to TriSports.com in both our online and retail bicycle sales and service, bringing with him over two decades of experience in triathlon and cycling retail,” says Seton Claggett, president and CEO of TriSports.com. “We have only truly begun to focus on bicycle sales over the last 12 months, and Tom will be the catalyst to take this division of our company to the next level,” adds Claggett. Demerly is ready to take on the challenge. “Joining the TriSports.com team is the most exciting opportunity I’ve had in the cycling industry. It is the launch pad for customer service goals that only the TriSports.com team can achieve. TriSports.com is dedicated to service and community, contributing to the sport on a local, national and international level. Being a part of that team is the best place in the multisport industry.”

TriSports.com Announces Arizona’s Newest Cycling Club

Tucson, AZ November 6, 2009:  TriSports.com has announced the creation of Arizona’s newest cycling club in partnership with Eclipse Racing.  The TriSports Cycling/Eclipse Racing Club is a joint effort between the two organizations to increase the level of participation in road cycling in the state of Arizona and elevate the quality and experience of road racing events.  “As a retail bike shop with an extensive service department, it simply made sense to begin our own cycling club in order to further our support of cycling in Arizona”, said Seton Claggett, president and owner of TriSports.com.  Through increasing the numbers of active club cyclists in the state, the club hopes to have a positive impact on bike safety and advocacy, with an emphasis on responsible riding by all club members.  The club is split into two different groups – a men’s and women’s supported category 1 and 2 racing team, managed by Scott Blanchard of Pyramid Coaching and Tammy Lamb, and a group of club riders of all abilities.  The club’s official kick-off date and membership drive is set for November 14th and 15th at the TriSports.com Retail Store.  The weekend’s event will include a Sunday “pancake ride” with free breakfast for all riders provided by TriSports.com post-ride.  The club’s official inaugural ride will be El Tour de Tucson on Saturday, November 21st. An Autumn Packed with Events! http://blog.tri-sports.com/2009/08/26/an-autumn-packed-with-events/ http://blog.tri-sports.com/2009/08/26/an-autumn-packed-with-events/#comments Thu, 27 Aug 2009 00:31:15 +0000 Sarah http://blog.tri-sports.com/?p=1077 We like to think that we have busy and not so busy times around here. Winter is busy because we are getting ready for spring. Spring is busy because we are receiving a good chunk of our new items for the year, summer is busy because (in the majority of places) it is “in-season” and it turns out the fall is now busy with lots of events! I will say this though – it’s good to be busy! Here is what we have on our agenda for the coming months:

September 18th-20th: Halfmax National Championships expo at the Redman Triathlon, Oklahoma City.

September 21-25th: Interbike. Our annual pilgrimage to this industry pre-season event in Las Vegas.

September 26th-27th: Arizona State Hill Climb Championships. Headed to Safford, Arizona for event support.

October 5th – 10th: Kona Week at the TriSports.com Retail Store. Stay tuned for details.

November 5th-8th: Silverman expo at the Silverman Triathlon in Henderson, Nevada. It’s a great race.

November 18th-20th: El tour de Tucson expo. Choose from 109, 80, 67 or 35 miles, ridden around the perimeter of Tucson! This is an awesome event attended by nearly 10,000 cyclists!

December 11th-12th: Tucson Marathon expo. One of the fastest Boston Marathon qualifiers available.

Hopefully we will see some friendly faces while we are out and about!

What is the Best TDF Bike Shop Commercial? http://blog.tri-sports.com/2009/07/09/what-is-the-best-tdf-bike-shop-commercial/ http://blog.tri-sports.com/2009/07/09/what-is-the-best-tdf-bike-shop-commercial/#comments Thu, 09 Jul 2009 17:35:13 +0000 Sarah http://blog.tri-sports.com/?p=954 The answer is simple if you live in Southern Arizona – the TriSports.com Retail Store commercial is!  For the first time since we started advertising on television, we have created our own ad, not using local network production.  The result is a heart pumping, get your motor running, “I’ve gotta go get on my bike and ride” experience.  Watch for yourself, you’ll see!
