I have been getting several questions lately pertaining to Triathlon America. First, let me give you a little background on this organization. About two years ago I got together with Brian Enge (the CEO of Zoot and now with Active.com) about putting together an industry panel to discuss some of the things that were happening in our industry – more specifically the business aspect of the triathlon industry. I wish I could tell you that Triathlon America was born from this but it wasn’t. Fast forward 18 months and a few other industry people got together and actually made it happen. I am fortunate enough to be involved on the Board of Directors for this organization and hope to help further the sport and give a voice for the many aspects of the sport that TriSports.com touches – retail, races, coaches, pro’s and our customers.
Triathlon America can be summarized very easily – this is an organization committed to making the business of doing business in the sport of triathlon better. So, if you make any type of money on this sport: race directors, media, professional athletes, retail stores, manufacturers, coaches, etc. then this is an organization you want to join.
The kick off for Triathlon America is February 27-March 1, 2011 in La Jolla, CA (I know, I know, Tucson would be much better). This conference is going to have a jam packed schedule that will help anyone in this industry A) run their businesses better and B) network with the who’s who of triathlon business. I can tell you that from a business aspect there will be a lot to learn and apply to your business that will add value to your top and bottom line. If you are interested in attending the conference I do have a way to save you a little on the registration fee. See you next month!
