In 16 days I will be competing in the Vineman Ironman 70.3 in Windsor, California for my first 70.3 race. I signed up for this race back in November with a bunch of guys from college after our collegiate team did the Silverman half distance relay and we caught the bug to do a half. With the race looming closer the guys have started trash talking and challenging each other, not knowing any other females racing I have been feeling a little left out of all the fun (I am a firm believer in some good healthy trash talking). Well I finally found someone to trash talk and challenge for my first 70.3 race, Leanda Cave. Yes you read that right 2007 ITU long distance world champion, 3rd place 70.3 World Champion, and 3 time Escape from Alcatraz winning Leanda Cave. I am aware that I have absolutely ZERO chance of beating Leanda but she has humored me and agreed to my friendly challenge.

The Challenge: I have based this challenge off of both of our goal times. To win the challenge I must finish within 40% of Leanda’s time, if I do not Leanda wins.

The Stakes: If I win Leanda will have to spend the day being my assistant here at TriSports.com. If Leanda wins I will have to try and keep up with her on one of her grueling work outs. Either event will be documented and displayed in a humiliating and humorous manner on the TriSports.com Blog.

You’re going down Leanda!
