Rancho Sahuarita Triathlon Recap (better late than never)

The wonderful Missy of the TriSports.com buying department competed in her second triathlon the other weekend and graciously shared her thoughts on the event! Enjoy!
On Monday May 31st we had 10 TriSports.com employees compete in the Rancho Sahuarita Triathlon and it was a great race. One of my favorite parts of working at TriSports.com is racing and seeing so many customers and friends out on the course suffering… I mean thriving… in what they love to do. This was only my second triathlon and my first open water swim. Despite the rumors about the lake turning you green, it was a decent swim. You couldn’t see the people that were literally right next to you but I escaped meandering my way out and back. Thanks to the wonders of a wetsuit it greatly helped mask the fact that I had only been in the pool once since the Tucson Triathlon in March. Next I was off on the bike, probably my weakest of the three but my favorite. The best part of the bike is being able to people watch and cheer on my fellow employees. I completed the bike and into transition I go and of course start running out of transition with my helmet on. Clearly I had newbie written all over my forehead. Off on the run and nearly immediately looking at my watch hoping the end was near. I finish with a sprint to the finish line and am greeted by the best cheering squad my husband and son.

TriSports.com employees!
As a whole TriSports.com employees had a great race taking home four 2nd place age group finishes, one 1st place age group finish and Lisa Ribes taking home the women’s overall winner. Congrats to everyone who raced!
Lastly, a big thank you to everyone at TriSports.com who has encouraged me to race, trained with me and cheered me on as my journey in triathlons begins.
Team TriSports.com and Employees dominate at the Deuces Wild Traithlon Festival
By Jaclyn A.June 8, 2010 on 10:28 am | In Employee Adventures, Sponsorship, Uncategorized | No Comments
Team TriSports.com had a great showing this weekend in Show Low, Arizona at the Deuces Wild Triathlon Festival. The Team had great representation in the XTERRA, Olympic, and DeuceMan events. Not only did they have to battle challenging courses but unusually high temperatures for the White Mountains. Despite the challenges Team TriSports.com was once again all over the podium.

Thomas Taylor tries to beat his run course record
Chris Chesher took 5th place overall in the DeuceMan event. Thomas Taylor was 2nd place overall, Shannon Driscoll was 3rd place overall, Jennifer Rischard and Leo Carrillo were both 5th place overall, Karin Bivens and Brian Stover won their age groups, and Matt Grabau and John LeRoy took second in their age groups in the Olympic distance race.

Jarreau Jones on the bike
The employees of TriSports.com took to the course this year as well in the first ever Deuces Wild Triathlon Festival Industry Cup. Other companies competing this year included Quintana Roo, and Zoot Sports. TriSports.com walked away with the trophy with Ashley (retail associate) winning her age group for the Olympic, Erik (retail manager) completed his first half-iron distance race, and Billy (buyer) taking second in his age group for the XTERRA.

Karin Bivens finishes strong
Great job to the employees and team members of TriSports.com and everyone who competed in the 7th annual Deuces Wild Triathlon Festival!
UHC Team RV….dig it!

If you have been to TriSports.com over the last few months you have probably seen the UnitedHealthcare Presented by Maxxis Team RV parked here. This is one big rig, trust me, I drove it! One of the coolest features (not shown in this video) is the Rockford Fosgate (another team sponsor) “rolling thunder” wall of speakers – if you did Urban Assult here in Tucson you saw this nice little addition. We will have it out at the Tour of California if you want to check it out! Here is a video tour of the RV from Rory Sutherland.
